POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for conducting in-depth reviews of online classes, providing feedback/academic coaching and participates in faculty scheduling. The role ensures that the appropriate academic performance expectations are met. Manage multiple and concurrent departmental projects. A successful candidate will demonstrate a high attention to detail, effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities. The position reports to the Director Faculty Training & Development, will work closely with other members of the academic team and perform other duties as assigned.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise faculty
- Monitor and evaluate faculty daily classroom performance to ensure academic expectations are being met and notify faculty regarding their performance in a timely manner
- Collaboratively participate in the hiring, training, and motivating of faculty
- Collaboratively complete faculty performance appraisals
- Conduct bi-weekly faculty performance meetings with the program chairs
- Provide Deans/Directors monthly faculty performance evaluations
- Utilize the appropriate academic dashboard systems and reports to monitor faculty engagement
- Complete required professional development each year
- Teach one course a year
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED SKILLS:
- Master’s degree
- 5 years higher education online teaching experience
- 3 years of management experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team and with leadership
- Be decisive and have the ability/courage to address matters head on
- Ability to communicate in an online environment
- Effective interpersonal skills, academic reasoning, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of people (students, faculty, staff, and administrators)
- Ability to gather, analyze, evaluate, and integrate information electronically
- Maintain close attention to detail and produce work in a timely fashion
- Proficient in MS Office with experience with a learning management system such as Bb, Canvas, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
